Gorges & Desert From Marrakech to Fes

MARRAKECH – OUARZAZATE – SKOURA –DADES GORGES – DADES VALLEY – MERZOUGA – MIDELT – FES

DAY 1 – Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Dades
KM = 350 – TIME = 6H25

Start from your hotel around 9 :00 am, we take the road of Ouarzazate facing the Atlas Mountains.
We will go through Tichka Mountain pass (2 260 m) around 11 :30 am.
Short stop for a mint or absinthe Moroccan tea before reaching Ouarzazate.
Lunch in l’Etoile restaurant  before leaving Ouarzazate for Boulemane Dades (120 km).

Then we will leave the main road to reach a charming guest house 45 minutes later, at the foot steps of the Dades Gorges. A fabulous gastronomic dinner is waiting for you…

DAY 2 – Dades  – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga (camp)
KM = 351 – TIME = 5H40

After a restfull night and a delicious homemade breakfast, we will drive 45 minutes in the amazing gorges (34 km).

Oued Dades is 200 km long from High Atlas to Jbel Sagho, crossing the mountainous region of Dades, along small palmgroves and traditional villages and Kasbahs.The gorges high varies from 200m to 400 meters, sometimes the river is only a few meters wide.Along the road the “monkey fingers” is a strange natural stone sculpture to discover before getting in the heart of the amazing and impressive Tissadrine steep gorge.

Back to the main road after 1H30 in the Dades gorges, we have around 5 hours drive before the desert.

Arrive in Merzouga at the end of the day, the ‘desert door’. Here, you swap your car for a camel and start your camel trek through the red dunes of Erg Chebbi. An opportunity to enjoy serenity and peace of desert before arriving to your camp for the sunset.
Dinner and night at the camp.

DAY 3 – Erg Chebbi – Erfoud – Ifrane – Fes
KM = 470 – TIME = 7H00

Start at 8 :00 am. Departure to Rissani and Erfoud in order to visit the treatment plant marble fossilized before continuing to the beautiful Ziz Valley dotted with palm trees. After lunch we will stop by  Ifrane, a charming ski resort,  for a visit before reaching Fes at the end of the day.
